World Premiere production by Gabe McKinley about a group of actors putting on a production of O’Neill’s LONG DAY’S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT at a regional theatre; a tragic and sometimes darkly humorous overlapping of themes amidst the plays with a deliciously compelling plot of what happens “behind the scenes."

Bring lions, zebras, elephants, and other animals to life through the magic of Procreate.

​

Join us on an exciting and creative journey across the African savannah, where students will sketch, detail, and animate favorite animals in their natural habitats.

​

Throughout the class they will develop techniques for quick sketches, designing nature scenes, and creating dynamic animal layouts.

​

The tuition for this class includes a materials fee of $20 for basic materials provided by CAW.

This isn’t your typical playground—get ready for a world of creativity!

​

At CAW’s playground, students will have access to a rainbow of materials: colored sand, wood, clay, tempera and watercolor paints, markers, tissue paper, and so much more! Using all these supplies, they’ll create amazing projects like masks, paper dolls, animals, birds, insects, portraits, and even imaginary creatures.

How will they bring their ideas to life? By cutting, folding, stomping, splashing, blending, texturing, painting, and coloring—all while mixing their own one-of-a-kind colors.

Our teachers will introduce core concepts and guide your experience as you pot, prune, and design your very own bonsai tree! The Clinton Art Society (CAS) is pleased to present the annual Summer Juried Exhibition June 26 through July 30. “The event will be the highlight of our exhibition season as we celebrate visual arts and the vast talents of our member artists,” said CAS President Robin Hammeal-Urban. “We are honored to have renowned artist Anda Styler serve as our juror to select works and choose award recipients,” she added.

Join us for the opening reception on Sunday, June 29, from 2pm to 4pm and be a part of the visual celebration. The event is free, open to the public, and includes refreshments, live music, and inspiring art. The exhibition includes works in a wide range of artistic styles and mediums.

CAS was established in 1949 by a small group of professional artists dedicated to the growth of the arts in the region. “We’ve grown to become a vibrant influence in the arts community with members from across Connecticut and throughout New England,” Hammeal-Urban said. CAS sponsors exhibitions, critique events, and educational programs. Artists work in all fine-art media including painting and sculpture and new members are welcome.

This class is for beginners as well as previous students. We’ll have more time to build our skills with lots of choices for sewing by hand and on the machine. Use felt to sew colorful animals and fun shapes decorated with buttons and stitches. Learn how to use and design your own patterns. Projects from simple to more advanced projects include bags, stuffed animals like a teddy bear or whale, a patchwork pillow, a sewing kit, potholder and more.

Chair seated exercise class for seniors. Relax the mind, body and soul through gentle chair seated exercise using the breath via zoom.

Separated by 2,781 miles and on two different continents, Iraqi and Nigerian Christians share similar stories of persecution. From 2014-2018, portions of Northern Iraq were under the control of the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and many religious minorities, including Christians, experienced persecution and violence as a result. In the northern and central portions of Nigeria, violence towards Christians and other minority groups has also increased in recent years at the hands of Boko Haram and other groups. 

​

The Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center is honored to share the stories of those displaced in Iraq and Nigeria through Among the Persecuted and Displaced — a collection of photographs taken by Stephen Rasche. The Knights of Columbus has sponsored some of Rasche’s work in both countries, bringing to light the atrocities inflicted on those persecuted for their faith.

Shoreline Arts Alliance is proud to host the 3rd Annual Celebration of the Arts on Thursday, June 26 at Scranton Memorial Library in Madison. The event, which runs from 5-7 PM will celebrate the arts with performances, readings and exhibits by winners of Shoreline Arts Alliance’s 2025 Scholarships in the Arts, IMAGES 2024, the 2025 Tassy Walden New Voices in Children’s Literature competition and SAA’s 2025 Future Choices juried art exhibition for high school students. In addition to seeing emerging artists, attendees will be able to experience the work of professional artists from the shoreline region of Connecticut. His paintings and prints are held in prestigious collections such as the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC), the Slater Museum, the Yale University Art Gallery, the New Britain Museum of American Art, and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

HHTTS is an indie Asian dreampop/shoegaze band from Brooklyn, New York. HHTTS began like many indie bands—as a weekend passion project, rehearsing once a week while its members balanced full-time jobs.

​

After spending a year refining their sound in a $180/month rehearsal studio, the band made its live debut in mid-2022. As an all-Asian group, they quickly stood out in New York City's indie music scene. Since then, they have performed at numerous venues in NYC and beyond, including two sold-out shows. Their growing presence has earned them spots at festivals such as the New Colossus Festival 2023, Moonvibez MusicFest 2023, and Bacchanalia Festival 2022. In May, they released their debut EP, Poutine.

For more than twenty years that the group has been rolling its hump in the world of jazz manouche and revisited song,  Christine Tassan and the Impostors  has been able to win the esteem and loyalty of an ever-growing audience.

True pioneers in a field usually reserved for men and precursors of the manouche wave that swept over Quebec, these four musicians reinvent with the singularity that we know them a music that, far from being frozen in time, adapts on the contrary to all kinds of new ideas. From covers to compositions, the arrangements of the Impostors innovate, dust, give way to the unbridled creativity of four experienced musicians.

The group's reputation is no longer to be done, with 7 albums to its credit and more than 700 theatrical and festival shows, including multiple tours in Quebec, Canada, Europe, the United States and China. We saw Christine Tassan and the Impostors at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine (France), the Django Festival in Liberchies (Belgium) and the North-West Django Fest (USA). The album "Entre Félix et Django" received the  Opus Award for jazz album of the year  in 2017 and was  nominated in the Show of the Year category  in 2018. Inspired by the real stories of New Haven apizza pioneers, Family Business: (A)Pizza Play follows the Carbonizatto family’s pizza shop from it’s immigrant beginnings as it passes down over generations. This production explores New Haven’s pizza magic (la magia dell'apizza) from New Haven’s cultural and historic connection to pizza.

​

Family Business: (A)Pizza Play is a special collaboration with CitySeed and Sanctuary Kitchen, highlighting New Haven’s food culture, and celebrating the impact of 100 years of immigrant entrepreneurship in New Haven. Performances are at 162 James St., New Haven, future home of CitySeed’s operations, food incubator, and Sanctuary Kitchen.

THE CARBONIZATTO STORY

​

Pizza is a big deal in New Haven. We’re the Pizza Capital of America, after all. A Broken Umbrella Theatre has always wanted to tell the New Haven Apizza story, but not as a biography of any pizzaioli, but as a story of all of them. To do that, they took New Haven’s Apizza people and joined them into the fictionalized Carbonizzatto Family. Carbonizzatto, from the Italian for “carbonized” — a knowing wink to the black-dusted fingers walking out of any apizza shop.

​

Last year, in A Slice, we saw multiple generations of the Carbonizzattos throughout history, but always in New Haven and always at their pizza shop. The Carbonizattos struggled from generation to generation as they grappled with what they owe to future Carbonizattos — and what did they owe to those who came before? Because this is part of a larger story, and it’s not just about Apizza, it’s about a family. A Slice was only the seed for this full production, or as Bruno Cantante sings in the show, “One slice don’t make a pie.”

​

Joshua Redman is one of the most acclaimed and charismatic jazz artists to have emerged in the 1990’s. Born in Berkeley, California he is the son of legendary saxophonist Dewey Redman and dancer Renee Shedroff. In 1991 Redman graduated from Harvard College summa cum laude and had already been accepted by Yale Law School, but deferred entrance for what he believed was only going to be one year. Instead, he moved to New York City and immediately found himself immersed in the city’s burgeoning jazz scene. Five months later Redman was named winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition. Since then, Redman has worked and played with a vast array of jazz luminaries, released over twenty albums (Warner & Nonesuch), and has garnered top honors in critics and readers polls of DownBeat, Jazz Times, The Village Voice and Rolling Stone.

At CAW’s playground, students will have access to a rainbow of materials: colored sand, wood, clay, tempera and watercolor paints, markers, tissue paper, and so much more! Using all these supplies, they’ll create amazing projects like masks, paper dolls, animals, birds, insects, portraits, and even imaginary creatures.

How will they bring their ideas to life? By cutting, folding, stomping, splashing, blending, texturing, painting, and coloring—all while mixing their own one-of-a-kind colors.

The Clinton Art Society (CAS) is pleased to present the annual Summer Juried Exhibition June 26 through July 30. “The event will be the highlight of our exhibition season as we celebrate visual arts and the vast talents of our member artists,” said CAS President Robin Hammeal-Urban. “We are honored to have renowned artist Anda Styler serve as our juror to select works and choose award recipients,” she added.

Join us for the opening reception on Sunday, June 29, from 2pm to 4pm and be a part of the visual celebration. The event is free, open to the public, and includes refreshments, live music, and inspiring art. The exhibition includes works in a wide range of artistic styles and mediums.

CAS was established in 1949 by a small group of professional artists dedicated to the growth of the arts in the region. “We’ve grown to become a vibrant influence in the arts community with members from across Connecticut and throughout New England,” Hammeal-Urban said. CAS sponsors exhibitions, critique events, and educational programs. Artists work in all fine-art media including painting and sculpture and new members are welcome.

The exhibit will be on view in the Andrews Memorial Town Hall at 54 E. Main Street in Clinton, CT from June 26 through July 30. This class is for beginners as well as previous students. We’ll have more time to build our skills with lots of choices for sewing by hand and on the machine. Use felt to sew colorful animals and fun shapes decorated with buttons and stitches. Learn how to use and design your own patterns. Projects from simple to more advanced projects include bags, stuffed animals like a teddy bear or whale, a patchwork pillow, a sewing kit, potholder and more.

Separated by 2,781 miles and on two different continents, Iraqi and Nigerian Christians share similar stories of persecution. From 2014-2018, portions of Northern Iraq were under the control of the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and many religious minorities, including Christians, experienced persecution and violence as a result. In the northern and central portions of Nigeria, violence towards Christians and other minority groups has also increased in recent years at the hands of Boko Haram and other groups.

The Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center is honored to share the stories of those displaced in Iraq and Nigeria through Among the Persecuted and Displaced — a collection of photographs taken by Stephen Rasche. The Knights of Columbus has sponsored some of Rasche’s work in both countries, bringing to light the atrocities inflicted on those persecuted for their faith.

"Red, White, and Bruised: America's Healthcare and Reproductive Rights" — Assemblages from Medical Debris by Sarah Schneiderman

In "Red, White, and Bruised," artist Sarah Schneiderman confronts the fractured healthcare and reproductive landscape in the United States. Schneiderman made these poignant assemblages from non-recyclable medical and other debris. This exhibit juxtaposes imagery of American flags with maps showing state-level abortion access. Each piece in this exhibit examines the promises of liberty and justice against the realities of unequal care, legislative control, and choice.

​

Sarah reimagines the flag—an emblem of national pride and unity—using discarded medical materials such as pill packs, gauze, surgical socks, and syringe tubes. These flags represent waste in America's healthcare system, both figuratively and literally. They explore the equality of those who have access to healthcare. Minorities, women, and people of lower socioeconomic status receive different care than wealthy white men. Alongside the flags, abortion access maps, constructed from similar debris, show in which states reproductive rights are banned or are safe and legal. These maps lay bare the consequences of political decisions on real bodies.

​

Together, these works ask: "What does it mean to pledge allegiance to a nation where geography, wealth, gender, and race determine who has access to care?"

​

"Red, White, and Bruised" invites viewers to reflect on national pride, laws, and personal health. It challenges us to envision a country where care and choice are universal rights, not privileges.

​

Join us for the opening our new exhibit celebrating the life and work of distinguished artist Howard Fussiner (1923–2006).  Throughout his career, Fussiner was featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions across New York, New Haven, and New England, including a major thirty-year retrospective at the Munson Gallery in 1990.

His paintings and prints are held in prestigious collections such as the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC), the Slater Museum, the Yale University Art Gallery, the New Britain Museum of American Art, and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

Seny Tatchol is a master drummer, dancer, and cultural educator from Guinea, West Africa. Sol and The Tribu is a group of Cuban musicians who blend traditional Caribbean music and modern technology with a Miami twist. As ambassadors of the New Miami Sound, they pride themselves on what makes Miami “The Magic City,” with its blend of Caribbean influences and American swamp funk.

​

Sol and The Tribu — “tribu” means tribe — has seven members, but more than 20 musicians and creatives form the Tribu Collective. Together, they curate and produce original material that represents the 305 and its cultural diversity.

​

The band is led by Sol Ruiz, a Grammy-nominated international recording artist and multi-instrumentalist. Hailing from Miami, Ruiz sings and writes in her native tongue, Spanglish, and has toured in Europe, Canada and the Caribbean. Ruiz was a featured performer in an indie opera developed and produced by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Beth Morrison Projects.

​

The band’s most recent EP, Positive Vibration Nation, released in fall 2020, was created during the coronavirus pandemic. Conceptually, it encourages positive thinking and is an uplifting portrait of the band in times of uncertainty. Sol and The Tribu was a recipient of the Arsht Center’s Heart of Art commissioning award for their “Corona Conga Online” video in 2020.

​

Inspired by the real stories of New Haven apizza pioneers, Family Business: (A)Pizza Play follows the Carbonizatto family’s pizza shop from it’s immigrant beginnings as it passes down over generations. This production explores New Haven’s pizza magic (la magia dell'apizza) from New Haven’s cultural and historic connection to pizza.

​

Family Business: (A)Pizza Play is a special collaboration with CitySeed and Sanctuary Kitchen, highlighting New Haven’s food culture, and celebrating the impact of 100 years of immigrant entrepreneurship in New Haven. Performances are at 162 James St., New Haven, future home of CitySeed’s operations, food incubator, and Sanctuary Kitchen.

THE CARBONIZATTO STORY

​

Pizza is a big deal in New Haven. We’re the Pizza Capital of America, after all. A Broken Umbrella Theatre has always wanted to tell the New Haven Apizza story, but not as a biography of any pizzaioli, but as a story of all of them. To do that, they took New Haven’s Apizza people and joined them into the fictionalized Carbonizzatto Family. Carbonizzatto, from the Italian for “carbonized” — a knowing wink to the black-dusted fingers walking out of any apizza shop.

​

Last year, in A Slice, we saw multiple generations of the Carbonizzattos throughout history, but always in New Haven and always at their pizza shop. The Carbonizattos struggled from generation to generation as they grappled with what they owe to future Carbonizattos — and what did they owe to those who came before? Because this is part of a larger story, and it’s not just about Apizza, it’s about a family. A Slice was only the seed for this full production, or as Bruno Cantante sings in the show, “One slice don’t make a pie.”

​

America’s largest interactive comedy murder dinner theatre show is now playing! Solve a hilarious mystery while you feast on a fantastic dinner. Just beware! The culprit is hiding in plain sight somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a Prime Suspect before you know it!

These flags represent waste in America's healthcare system, both figuratively and literally. They explore the equality of those who have access to healthcare. Minorities, women, and people of lower socioeconomic status receive different care than wealthy white men. Alongside the flags, abortion access maps, constructed from similar debris, show in which states reproductive rights are banned or are safe and legal. These maps lay bare the consequences of political decisions on real bodies.

Together, these works ask: "What does it mean to pledge allegiance to a nation where geography, wealth, gender, and race determine who has access to care?"

​

"Red, White, and Bruised" invites viewers to reflect on national pride, laws, and personal health. It challenges us to envision a country where care and choice are universal rights, not privileges.

This production explores New Haven’s pizza magic (la magia dell'apizza) from New Haven’s cultural and historic connection to pizza.

Family Business: (A)Pizza Play is a special collaboration with CitySeed and Sanctuary Kitchen, highlighting New Haven’s food culture, and celebrating the impact of 100 years of immigrant entrepreneurship in New Haven. Performances are at 162 James St., New Haven, future home of CitySeed’s operations, food incubator, and Sanctuary Kitchen.

THE CARBONIZATTO STORY

​

Pizza is a big deal in New Haven. We’re the Pizza Capital of America, after all. A Broken Umbrella Theatre has always wanted to tell the New Haven Apizza story, but not as a biography of any pizzaioli, but as a story of all of them. To do that, they took New Haven’s Apizza people and joined them into the fictionalized Carbonizzatto Family. Carbonizzatto, from the Italian for “carbonized” — a knowing wink to the black-dusted fingers walking out of any apizza shop.

​

Last year, in A Slice, we saw multiple generations of the Carbonizzattos throughout history, but always in New Haven and always at their pizza shop. The Carbonizattos struggled from generation to generation as they grappled with what they owe to future Carbonizattos — and what did they owe to those who came before? Because this is part of a larger story, and it’s not just about Apizza, it’s about a family. A Slice was only the seed for this full production, or as Bruno Cantante sings in the show, “One slice don’t make a pie.”

Join us for the opening our new exhibit celebrating the life and work of distinguished artist Howard Fussiner (1923–2006).  Throughout his career, Fussiner was featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions across New York, New Haven, and New England, including a major thirty-year retrospective at the Munson Gallery in 1990.

His paintings and prints are held in prestigious collections such as the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC), the Slater Museum, the Yale University Art Gallery, the New Britain Museum of American Art, and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

 Nashville singer-songwriter Sarah Lake, an American Idol alum, brings her Indie-Country storytelling to the MAC stage. Opening act and local talent Emily Mager brings her own Nashville journey along for the ride.

Sarah Lake  is a  Nashville-based singer-songwriter  and  American Idol Top 20 alum  known for her  soulful Indie-Country  sound.

Separated by 2,781 miles and on two different continents, Iraqi and Nigerian Christians share similar stories of persecution. From 2014-2018, portions of Northern Iraq were under the control of the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and many religious minorities, including Christians, experienced persecution and violence as a result. In the northern and central portions of Nigeria, violence towards Christians and other minority groups has also increased in recent years at the hands of Boko Haram and other groups. 

​

The Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center is honored to share the stories of those displaced in Iraq and Nigeria through Among the Persecuted and Displaced — a collection of photographs taken by Stephen Rasche. The Knights of Columbus has sponsored some of Rasche’s work in both countries, bringing to light the atrocities inflicted on those persecuted for their faith.
