“Wounds to Wonders” Art Show and Sale featuring original works created by Ukraine’s Wounded Soldiers

New Haven, CT — The NHCT UAHA Fund, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is launching a heartfelt fundraising initiative to support wounded Ukrainian soldiers receiving care at Zhytomyr Military Hospital. These courageous servicemen have been evacuated from the front lines with devastating physical injuries and psychological trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI).
While undergoing medical treatment, the soldiers are also receiving emotional and therapeutic support through a pioneering art therapy program led by Yuliya Tolmachova, a nationally honored volunteer and mother of an active-duty soldier. Yuliya, head of Veteran’s Home in Zhytomyr, has been serving Ukrainian troops since 2014—both in hospitals and on the battlefield

- The art therapy program at Zhytomyr Military Hospital
- A ground motion drone to evacuate wounded soldiers from combat zone
- A vehicle named Na Suchit (on the Shield) to respectively transport fallen heroes’ home
