Flint Street Theater at Friends Center for Children is hosting a special free screening of the documentary The Volunteers: Mountain Rescue Brings Us Home on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 3 PM. The film is directed and produced by historian Mark S. Weiner and follows two mountain rescue organizations—one near Seattle, Washington, the other in Tyrol, Austria—exploring how both are shaped by a deep love of home. Travel with Weiner as he uncovers their surprising connection and the meaning behind their work: before you can save a stranger, you must first love your home.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Mark S. Weiner. This event is open to the public, RSVP is encouraged, but not required.
