Schwarzman Session - The Future of Performing Arts with Michael Kaiser

Schwarzman Sessions are peer-led gatherings where conversations generate collaborations and move ideas into action. Because seats are limited, registrants will be automatically placed on the waitlist and will be notified via email if they are selected to participate.
In today’s rapidly shifting funding landscape, what challenges and opportunities lie ahead for nonprofit arts organizations? Join Lead Sessionist Michael Kaiser, chairman of the DeVos Institute of Arts and Nonprofit Management, for this timely conversation. He previously served as president of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, executive director of the Royal Opera House, executive director of American Ballet Theatre, and executive director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Foundation.
Kaiser is joined by Rachel Fine , executive director of Yale Schwarzman Center, and Josh Borenstein , chair of the theater management department at the David Geffen School of Drama, to explore how economic shifts, changing funding priorities, and evolving audience behavior and cultural focus are reshaping the sector.
Drawing on Kaiser’s extensive experience leading organizations through crisis and renewal, the discussion will cover the varied paths organizations may face based on their size, mission, and community, and what adaptation and resilience look like in practice.
Lunch will be provided!
