Description

We are thrilled to be partnering with the Yale Peabody Museum to host New York Times-bestselling creator of Women in Science, Rachel Ignotofsky, as she launches her newest book, [DINOSAURS: EXPLORING PREHISTORIC LIFE AND GEOLOGICAL TIME](https://www.possiblefuturesbooks.com/item/zroBIQl5narwDHtFXANQw)_, an entertaining, educational, and strikingly illustrated guide to Earth’s prehistoric eras and animals for readers of all ages (advertised for ages 10 and Up).

Rachel is adored by kids, teachers, and parents alike – not just for her gorgeous illustrations and informative text, but also for her ability to capture the many curiosities that readers of all ages have about the world, making each of her appearances a beautiful opportunity for learning, engaging, and expanding.

Come meet Rachel in person, hear her talk about her newest book, and in the perfect place for it, The Peabody Museum. This event is free and open to the public. It will begin at 4pm in the digital classroom and involve some time together in the adjacent, famous Burke Hall of Dinosaurs.

The book publishes on Tuesday, October 14; if you would like to pre-order a copy, we can bring it to the event for you so you can pick it up there! Just place your order here, and meet us at the Peabody on Friday, October 17, at 4pm, where Rachel will sign your book in person after the event!

More about the book:

With an exciting blend of vivid artwork and astonishing scientific facts, Dinosaurs: Exploring Prehistoric Life and Geological Time (Ages 10 and Up) journeys through Earth’s inhospitable origins, when the only life-forms were single-celled organisms—to the beginnings of life as we know it during the Paleozoic Era: plants covering whole continents with forests, winged insects taking to the sky, and seafaring vertebrates evolving to survive on land. Traveling forward in time, you’ll explore the Mesozoic Era, when the gargantuan Tyrannosaurus rex, the long-necked Brontosaurus, and the lumbering Stegosaurus walked the Earth. Then you’ll venture into the Cenozoic Era’s ice age, where you’ll meet mammals like the Woolly Mammoth and early humans. Experience earth history like you’ve never seen it before with infographics, maps, and illustrations that bring fascinating extinct animals to life.
