Painting Portraits in Oils: Depicting Light and Mixing Flesh Tones by Diane Chandler

Diane Chandler, Connecticut artist, will demonstrate "Painting Portraits in Oils: Depicting Light and Mixing Flesh Tones". She will do a head study in oil of a model from life, showing how she begins a portrait painting. Diane will explain how she sets up her palette, mixes her flesh tones and how she starts by simplifying her values. If you have interest in painting portraits in any medium, this is a "do not miss" presentation.
Diane Chandler is a contemporary representational painter who loves the craft of traditional oil painting. She is fascinated by the play of light on forms, whether they be human, plant or inanimate. For several years she concentrated on portraiture, where she aspired to reveal some aspect of the sitter’s character, with the occasional addition of a bit of humor.
