On the Lathe: The Artistry of Turning Wood

Join us at the Leslie P. and George H. Hume American Furniture Study Center at the Collection Studies Center, Yale West Campus, for a presentation and live demonstration by Beth Ireland exploring the fundamentals of wood turning on a lathe. Ireland, an accomplished architectural woodworker and furniture maker who considers herself primarily a sculptor, takes solace in the meditative act of turning. A well-respected educator, she has taught lathework across the country in her program Turning Around America.
