Description

Join us at the Leslie P. and George H. Hume American Furniture Study Center at the Collection Studies Center, Yale West Campus, for a presentation and live demonstration by Beth Ireland exploring the fundamentals of wood turning on a lathe. Ireland, an accomplished architectural woodworker and furniture maker who considers herself primarily a sculptor, takes solace in the meditative act of turning. A well-respected educator, she has taught lathework across the country in her program Turning Around America. Referencing her storied career and displaying her skill set live, Ireland demystifies the exciting world of lathe-turned objects. Generously sponsored by the Martin A. Ryerson Lectureship Fund.

Registration required; space is limited.
