Dublin-based Irish / Americana band, I DRAW SLOW have created a sound that is very much their own, carrying you away, in equal measure, to the Appalachian woods and Dublin hills, with the odd detour on route to New Orleans or California. What finer mix of places could there be?
Their music have the power to express more than just words, stir emotions that are as old as mankind.
I Draw Slow has been consistently redefining acoustic roots music for over ten years. Formed in Dublin Ireland, the award winning five piece is led by siblings and songwriters Dave and Louise Holden, Adrian Hart on fiddle, Colin Derham on claw hammer banjo, Konrad Liddy on double bass. They have been together for 13 years and in that time they have released five critically acclaimed albums. Their last two albums have been released on Compass records in Nashville, one of the leading independent labels in the U.S. Their fourth, Turn Your face to the Sun went to number one in the Irish charts. As well as a reputation for fine songwriting, their live shows are a unique and captivating experience with dedicated fans travelling far and wide to see them. They tour internationally and have fully established themselves on the North American acoustic music scene, touring the U.S. and Canada since 2013 and playing all the major festivals to their loyal following.
They received a gold disc in 2017 from IMRO for this honour. Their music has been licensed for Film, TV and advertising and has been recorded and covered by other artists.
THE BARGAIN
Formed in 2019, The Bargain comprises Frank Critelli on vocals, Muddy Rivers on guitar and harmony vocals, and Shandy Lawson on mandolin. Drawing on a range of influences from The Band, to Metallica, to Goethe, the three come together in a fusion of guitar-driven acoustic pop pieces and soaring ballads, bolstered by vocal harmonies and mandolin.
The Bargain's first CD, a collection titled Hindsight: 2020 was released in February of 2021 to critical success, and was followed by the studio album '22 in November of the following year, earning spots on two of Connecticut's year-end "Best Of" lists.
The band performs regularly throughout New England, with occasional journeys south along the east coast, performing both in their original acoustic trio configuration as well as an electric five-piece, backed by Jim Stavris on drums and Bobo Lavorgne on bass.
