Description

It's the 1930s, and as the Nazi Regime expands and rises to power, threatening Europe and the rest of the world, the German military has developed a secret encryption device to mask their strategy for world domination. Known as "Enigma," the device is deemed to be inscrutable and unbreakable. British intelligence establishes a team of codebreakers, scientists, and mathematicians led by Alan Turing to break the Enigma code and help defeat Nazism. The results of the work will have far-reaching implications beyond breaking the German codes.

This story was based on a biography of Alan Turing by Andrew Hodges. We'll follow the film with a discussion. Watch this short video as preparation for this important story and the deep effect it has had and continues to have on civilization. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEomYB94TTI
