20th Annual Yale NEABPD Conference

On behalf of the Yale-NEABPD planning committee, we are pleased to announce the 20th Annual Yale-NEABPD Conference, taking place on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025. The conference theme this year is Increasing access to effective tools: Universal skills for emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness and will feature keynote speaker Dr. Shireen Rizvi. Researchers, clinical experts and people with lived experience and their families will present on increasing access to effective treatment and resources and share their stories of change and growth .
This year's talks will address focal topics such as barriers to treatment, resource accessibility, and methods to bolster community support in the treatment of borderline personality disorder (BPD). This theme was chosen to reflect the vision of NEABPD: Building a world where emotional wisdom prevails for all.
This conference will be held in hybrid format, with in-person attendance available at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut and live streaming available for those looking to attend virtually. We look forward to a day filled with a spectacular lineup of professional and lived-experience speakers!

Our day-long virtual conference will feature:
- Keynote presentation by Dr. Shireen Rizvi, leading expert in research and treatment of chronic emotion dysregulation
- A range of presentations by leading researchers and clinicians in the field, including Dr. Suzanne Decker, Dr. Andrea DePetris, and Dr. Sarah Fineberg
- Presentations by individuals with lived experience of borderline personality disorder and their family members
- A poster session featuring the latest research and initiatives for borderline personality disorder
- An Exhibition Hall with opportunities to visit our sponsors’ and exhibitors’ booths and resources
All conference events are open to mental health professionals, training clinicians, researchers, those with lived BPD experience, and their family members.
