13th Annual New Haven Family Stroll & Festival!
Join us for the 13th Annual New Haven Family Stroll & Festival!
Saturday, May 17 | 10 AM - 1 PM
Quinnipiac River Park, New Haven
Bring your family, friends, and neighbors for a fun-filled day that celebrates and advocates for high-quality, accessible child care.
The event is hosted by Friends Center for Children, a New Haven early care and education provider, however, a network of community partners are also expected to join. Friends Center will also debut its ‘Books with Friends’ trolley, focused on children ages 0-5. The trolley will travel weekly throughout New Haven, offering books and curriculum to family childcare providers and center-based programs in under-resourced and overburdened neighborhoods.
The Family Stroll & Festival raises awareness and calls for significant investment in our early care and education system, including:
- Fair pay and support for early childhood educators
- More accessible, affordable care for families
- Resources that help all children thrive from the start
What’s happening:
- A drum-led stroll over the Quinnipiac River bridge
- Face painting, Zumba, bubbles, arts & crafts
- Live music, magicians, parachute play & more
- Food trucks & over 40 community resource tables
- Remarks from Mayor Justin Elicker and other local leaders
Whether you're a parent, caregiver, educator, or advocate, your presence helps strengthen the call for more accessible child care, and better compensation for our amazing educators.
FREE & open to all! Come stroll with us and show your support for a brighter future for New Haven’s children and families.
